Rooted in a deep passion for nature and hospitality, our team of certified naturalist guides is dedicated to connecting travelers with the authentic beauty of the Arenal region. Through immersive guided walks and well-maintained self-guided trails, we offer visitors an intimate, respectful look at Costa Rica’s rich tropical biodiversity—from vibrant toucans and red-eyed tree frogs to sloths and nocturnal wildlife.

A small ecological reserve from what was once a dairy farm turned into natural environment for wildlife. We were lucky enough to have owner walk with us and point out creatures and plants. Probably saw at least 8 sloths some with babies, iguanas, lizards that looked like dinosaurs, all kinds of colorful birds, red and black frogs, blue and black frogs. Entrance fee was $17 US. Then they have a bird feeding area at snack restaurant and birds were unbelievable. Probably 20 different birds coming to the feeder. I have been to many countries to look at birds and this was some of the best birding I have ever seen. Highly recommend. It is right in town and walkable, just go by Open Kitchen Restaurant and follow road as it turns corner going North. Walk is around 7 mins from OK and reserve is on the right.

The swimming area near the river was a highlight of the trip, a perfect area to swim around, explore or just relax.  The trail back goes by some animal pens and the staff were happy to let us play with the baby goats
